Qlik Cloud's Visual Task Chain Viewer: A Faster Way to Debug Your Reload Chains

If you've ever built a chain of reload tasks in Qlik Cloud, you know the pain of troubleshooting when one link breaks. Which task ran first? Did it fail before or after the downstream task kicked off? Up until now, you were mostly piecing that together from timestamps and guesswork.

Qlik Cloud's new Visual Task Chain Viewer, tucked into the Tasks section of the Analytics activity center, fixes that. Click the dependency icon next to any chained task and you get a graph: your selected task highlighted in green, its upstream and downstream neighbors laid out around it, and each link labeled with how it triggers, on succeeded, on failed, or on finished.

A few things worth knowing:

• The task you clicked is always the one highlighted, but you can set a different task as the anchor to re-center the graph without losing your place.

• Each task card shows the last run status at a glance, so you can spot the broken link without opening every task individually.

• You can act right from the graph: view task details, edit the chain, run a task now, or activate/deactivate it.

• Access is still governed by space permissions. If you don't have rights to a task in the chain, you'll see the dependency but can't manage it.

It's not a flashy feature, but it's the kind of thing that turns a 20-minute troubleshooting session into a two-minute one.
